Bilston Watershed Habitat Protection Association

Purposes, Section 2:

  1. To protect the integrity and promote the health of the habitats that are to be found in the Bilston-Metchosin Creek drainage area. This watershed does include Hewitt, Cole, Pilgrim, Firehall, Pritchard and Espley Creeks and Martin and Lookout Brooks as well as smaller unnamed tributaries.

  2. To promote and assist in ongoing data collection and informed practical watershed/stream management in this area.

  3. To encourage governing bodies to fulfill their responsibilities to protect the values of this watershed.

  4. To further public awareness of the natural values of this stream system.

  5. To develop and implement fish and wildlife habitat and water quality enhancement programs in this area.

  6. To offer assistance and guidance to people affected by these streams.

  7. To work towards restoring normal winter and summer flows in this stream system.

  8. To promote the creation of reserves, parkland and public access to and along the creeks.

  9. To bring together individuals and groups who share our purposes.
